Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad launched via video conference the initiative to accelerate the pace of climate finance with the British Ambassador Mr. Gareth Bailey.
Climate finance acceleration program is making changes on the ground in African countries and worldwide as far as climate action is concerned.
Fouad expressed her happiness at launching the initiative to accelerate the pace of climate finance in cooperation with the British side as one of the main and important mechanisms for implementing measures to address the effects of climate change.
Climate finance is a main demand for the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), set to take place in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm e-l Sheikh in November.
The Minister of Environment stressed that the Cop27 Climate Conference is an implementation conference, and it will build on previous successes and pledges in Glasgow, to reach implementation steps on the ground.
