Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad is expected to participate in the high-level segment of the meetings of the Conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions to be held on June 2-3 in Stockholm.
In a press release on Wednesday, the minister asserted the importance of participating in the meeting that will be held under the title “Stockholm+50: A healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity”.
The conference is expected to discuss the contribution of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions to solve the crises facing planet Earth namely climate change, loss of biodiversity and pollution.
The minister added that the conference also aims at providing an interactive platform for ministers to exchange expertise and press on the political leadership to commit to implementing these agreements as well as raising the political awareness concerning these agreements.
