Egypt’s Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad lauded on Sunday, September 15 co-operation with France in the spheres of biodiversity and climate.
The minister’s remarks came during her meeting with CEO of SUEZ Sabrina Soussan along with her accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in implementing several environmental projects in the sphere of converting waste and water management and desalination technology.
In a statement Sunday, the ministry said the minister reviewed efforts to develop the waste sector over the past years.
The minister also referred to the steps taken in waste management, as the waste is considered a main source for energy production.
She further pointed out to the possibility of holding co-operation in providing new technology and technical support to the solid waste treatment and energy conversion projects.
The two sides, meanwhile, discussed exchanging expertise in the studies related to the effects of water desalination on marine life, e
specially with Egypt’s expansion of desalination projects.
