The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), Ziyad Saaida, has expressed EMRC’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and cooperation while providing technical support to the State of Palestine.
Saaida emphasized the importance of experience exchange during his meeting with the head of the Electricity Regulatory Authority in Palestine, which took place on the sidelines of the Arab Electricity Regulators Forum in Dubai.
According to an EMRC statement on Tuesday, Saaida urged the participating countries at the forum to lend their expertise and capabilities to support Palestine in developing and modernizing its electrical network.
The Chairman underscored the EMRC’s determination to foster ongoing collaboration with Arab and international regulatory bodies, with the aim of facilitating the exchange of experiences, developing the skills and capabilities of professionals in the sector, and harnessing shared expertise for mutual benefit.
The forum commended Jordan’s electrical system, describing it as “distinguished with pioneering technical expertise in the field of electricity and renewable energy,” and acknowledged the need to draw from Jordan’s experience in energy sector regulation and control while emphasizing the importance of strengthening the electrical interconnection network between Jordan and Palestine.
