Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi discussed with Hassan Abdullah, acting governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), means of cementing bilateral cooperation to provide facilities for Egyptian expats.
The ministry detailed in a statement on Friday that both sides had a meeting at the bank’s headquarters and discussed a number of initiatives, proposals and requests raised during the third edition of the Conference of Egyptian Entities Abroad, organized by the Emigration Ministry in the New Administrative Capital in mid August.
Gendi said such cooperation aims to increase Egyptian expats’ contributions to the national economy, under the political leadership’s directives to meet the needs of nationals living abroad.
The minister briefed Abdullah on the demands of Egyptian expats on offering saving accounts with simplified measures on remittance.
Gendi also praised the recent decisions taken by the CBE governor on assuring investors and attracting capital, stressing that the citizens have confidence in state-funded projects and initiatives in different domains, particularly banking and real estate investment.
