Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha El Gendy chaired on Saturday 04/03/2023 a meeting of the Egyptian-Kazakh joint cooperation committee.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Cairo Khairat Lama Sharif and his accompanying delegation participated in the meeting, along with the Assistant Minister for Emigration for Expat Communities’ Amr Abbas, Egyptian Ambassador in Astana Manal El Shinawy, and Assistant Foreign Minister for Commonwealth States’ Affairs Mohamed Ghoneim.
The meeting, held in continuation of previous meetings, sought to identify aspects of mutual cooperation in various domains, including agriculture, Gendy said.
“We are currently working with relevant officials from both countries to determine mutual cooperation aspects, and study cooperation challenges on the ground to find effective solutions them,” the minister added.
She emphasized Egypt’s commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation mechanisms in various areas.
Meanwhile, Sharif commended the booming ties between Egypt and Kazakhstan, which are demonstrated by their ongoing cooperation to serve mutual interests in many areas, topped by bilateral trade, as well as the two countries’ efforts to build on their historic relationship.
He noted that the 13th century Al-Zahir Baybars Mosque, located in Al-Zahir Square, Downtown Cairo, is expected to be opened soon after restoration, which testifies to the deeply rooted ties between both countries.
Sharif also said that efforts are currently under way to identify labor market needs in Kazakhstan, with a view to making use Egypt’s skilled workforce, especially in the agricultural industry, given Egypt’s successful experience in this domain.
