Egypt’s wealth of knowledge has enriched the human civilization in all areas of life, State Minister for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Nabila Makram said on Tuesday 9/11/2021.
In her remarks to a host of prominent delegates at the exhibition “An Idea… Ancient Greek Science and Technology” at the emblematic space of the Library of Alexandria “Bibliotheca Alexandrina,” Makram added that the cultural and scientific relations enjoyed by Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus set a good model for investing in knowledge and people.
Egypt is committed to moving forward with its cooperation with both Mediterranean nations, Makram said.
She added that the event falls within the framework of bolstering cultural cooperation among the three countries, as a fruitful result of the “Reviving Roots” initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during the tripartite summit that grouped Egypt, Cyprus and Greece in Nicosia in 2017.
Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina Mostafa Al Fekki, Secretary General for Diaspora Greeks Prof. John Chrysoulakis, and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria, were present at the event, along with a host of public figures, media personnel, and academics.
The exhibition displays the transformation of Greek knowledge in several scientific fields, such as basic technologies, astronomy, exploration and communication, body and mind, arts, architecture and automation.
It runs for three months.
