Cairo: Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Esmat, met with the head of the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone (GTEZ), Mohamed Abadi, to explore cooperation in providing electricity for the area’s development plan.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions also covered investment opportunities and the potential for industrial projects, particularly in the first phase of the Safaga Industrial Zone.
Minister Esmat emphasised the Golden Triangle’s strategic importance, highlighting the government’s focus on stimulating investment and utilising the area’s natural resources for manufacturing industries, including the production of electrical components for renewable energy projects. He also directed the commencement of studies to supply 28 megawatts for the first phase of the industrial zone.
The Golden Triangle, rich in mining resources, offers significant potential for economic growth, especially with ongoing investments in Safaga Port, which facilitates the export of raw materials. The region’s special economic zone status provides further incentives for industrial development.
