The National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) said that the maximum electricity load on Sunday increased by 25 per cent compared to figures recorded last year at the same time. NEPCO’s spokesperson, Mohammad Maharmeh, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that electricity loads on Sunday increased by 17 per cent compared to yesterday’s figures, due to the high temperatures and the heatwave currently affecting the Kingdom, explaining that the network is capable of accommodating these loads. No case of large scale and continuous power outages have been recorded in Amman, Maharmeh said, noting that complaints received by emergency rooms so far is individual outages and within the normal range. He indicated that there is an operating room at the medium pressure level, and an operating room at the low pressure level, and there are about 20 sub-operation rooms that cover outages in the four central governorates.
