El-Nasr Automotive Unveils First Locally-Produced Electric Bus in Collaboration with Yutong.


Cairo: The Nasr Automotive Company has successfully manufactured its first electric bus, marking a significant milestone in the Egyptian automotive industry. This achievement is the result of a strategic partnership with Yutong, a prominent Chinese company renowned for its expertise in bus and vehicle manufacturing. The collaboration is part of a broader initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability through the development of clean energy transportation solutions.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the new electric bus boasts a high percentage of locally sourced components, demonstrating the company’s commitment to deepening local manufacturing capabilities. The unveiling of the bus took place at the Nasr Automotive Factory, where Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recognized the occasion as a pivotal moment in the revival of the Nasr Automotive Company under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Minister of the Public Business Sector, Mohamed Shemi, highlighted the signific
ance of El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company as a cornerstone of Egypt’s industrial and business sectors. The company is set to produce environmentally friendly vehicles for the Ministry of Transport, supporting transportation needs in the new administrative capital while bolstering local manufacturing in the automotive industry.

Looking ahead, Nasr Automotive Company plans to manufacture approximately 40,000 private cars annually in collaboration with foreign partners. This initiative includes establishing a new company through partnerships with private sector entities, further solidifying Nasr Automotive’s role in Egypt’s automotive future.
