Cairo: Eid Al-Fitr is set to commence on Monday, as announced by Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta, the authority responsible for Islamic rulings in the country. The announcement was made following the inability to sight the Shawwal moon.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dar Al-Ifta confirmed that Eid Al-Fitr would not begin on Sunday, 30 March, as the Shawwal moon was not observed. Dar El-Iftaa serves as the main authority in Egypt for issuing religious edicts and has played a crucial role in confirming the start date of this significant Islamic celebration.
