Egypt’s UN Ambassador Alaa Higazi Assumes Role in Geneva.


Geneva: Ambassador Alaa Higazi presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva, officially assuming his role as Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, and other international organizations based in Geneva.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the meeting following the credentials ceremony, Ambassador Higazi underscored Egypt’s strong commitment to strengthening United Nations operations and advancing multilateral diplomacy, reaffirming Egypt’s continued support for UN agencies across various sectors.

In response, Ms. Valovaya expressed her appreciation for the productive collaboration between her office and the Egyptian Mission in Geneva, expressing her anticipation of deepening cooperation and coordination in the future. She also highlighted the vital role Egypt plays in supporting the United Nations system, particularly in light of the significant
challenges facing multilateral engagement.
