Cairo: Egypt’s Mufti Nazir Ayyad congratulated judge Amal Ammar on being appointed as President of the National Council for Women (NCW) for a four-year term. The mufti said selecting qualified women leaders reflects the keenness of the state on empowering women and supporting their effective role in the community.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian women have demonstrated their ability to contribute and sacrifice for the country over the years, with several honorable models emerging in different domains. The mufti emphasized that the NCW will play a pivotal role in promoting the position of Egyptian women, protecting their rights, and empowering them across various fields.
Earlier, a presidential decree was issued appointing Ammar president of NCW. The council now comprises 29 members instead of 27.
