Egypt’s Foreign Minister Engages in Strategic Dialogue with Rwandan Counterpart.


Cairo: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aati held a phone call with his Rwandan counterpart Olivier Nduhungirehe to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries. The discussion emphasized enhancing partnerships in sectors such as health, economic and trade, alongside capacity building and expertise exchange through training programs by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development.

According to State Information Service Egypt, both ministers expressed their eagerness to convene the joint committee between Egypt and Rwanda promptly. They also proposed the organization of a business forum during the committee’s activities, aiming to bolster private sector relations in both nations. Additionally, the progress of the “Egypt-Rwanda Magdi Yacoub Heart Center” was reviewed, highlighting its significance as an extension of Egyptian expertise in heart treatment across Africa.

The dialogue included an exchange of views on African continental developments, with a commit
ment to fortifying African Union institutions and achieving sustainable development goals under Agenda 2063. The ministers also emphasized mutual support for nominations in regional and international arenas.
