Cairo: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, discussed the latest developments in Syria with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, during a phone call. The conversation, held on Wednesday, focused on the ongoing situation in Syria, with Minister Abdelatty reiterating Egypt’s commitment to the Syrian state’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He emphasized the necessity of safeguarding civilians amid the challenging circumstances affecting the security and stability of Syria and the broader region.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the dialogue between Abdelatty and Lavrov also highlighted the importance of continued joint coordination between Egypt and Russia. The ministers exchanged views on the broader situation in the Middle East, including developments in Sudan and the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. Both parties concurred on the urgency of achieving an immediate ceasefire and ensuring unconditional access to humanitarian aid in these conflict zones.
