Cairo: The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) recently engaged in discussions with Misr Applied Knowledge Enterprise for Research and Services (MAKERS) to explore strategies for strengthening Egypt’s medical supplies sector. This initiative, as stated in a Cabinet statement released on Thursday, aims to enhance the local production of medical equipment.
According to State Information Service Egypt, EDA head Ali Al Ghamrawy met with MAKERS CEO and Managing Director Amgad El Maghraby to review the operations of MAKERS and discuss its role in advancing the medical manufacturing industry in Egypt. The talks centered on supporting national strategies that focus on localizing the production of essential medical equipment.
Al Ghamrawy reiterated the EDA’s commitment to collaborating with industry stakeholders and promoting domestic manufacturing. He emphasized the strategic importance of building Egypt’s capacity in medical production, which is crucial for supporting both the national healthcare system and the broader
economy.
