Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Osama Askar met on Monday 30/5/2022 with Chief of the Staffing and Preparation Department for the Algerian People’s National Army Major General Belkacem Hasnat on a set of issues of common interest and means of boosting military cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, Lt Askar asserted the depth of historic relations binding Algeria and Egypt, noting that the Armed Forces was keen on enhancing ties and bolstering cooperation in the various military fields so as to benefit the two countries’ interests and exchange expertise.
Meanwhile, Algerian Lt General Hasnat praised the efforts exerted by Egypt and its Armed Forces in backing efforts to maintain security and stability in the African continent, asserting that his country was keen on pushing forward military cooperation with Cairo in the coming phase.
A number of top military brass from both sides along with the Algerian military attache in Cairo attended the meeting.
