Bamako: Egypt’s Ambassador in Bamako, Mohamed el Gammal, held discussions with Mali’s Minister of Health and Social Development, Assa Badiallo Tour©, focusing on cooperation in the healthcare sector.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Gammal emphasized Egypt’s ongoing commitment to Mali’s development, highlighting medical and humanitarian aid, including a shipment of medical supplies announced by Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, during a meeting with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop in Cairo in December 2024. This shipment is destined for the Egyptian wing of the Luxembourg Hospital in Bamako as part of a series of cooperative programs responding to Mali’s healthcare needs.
The ambassador extended an invitation to Minister Tour© to attend the handover ceremony of the medical shipment at the hospital. Tour© expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support, acknowledging the medical aid, grants, and training programs Egypt provides to Malian medical and nursing staff. She highlighted the importance of continuing and expanding health cooperation programs to further benefit from Egypt’s expertise.
Tour© also expressed hope for ongoing partnerships in the healthcare field, aiming to strengthen Mali’s healthcare system through Egypt’s assistance and experience.
