Egyptians Rally Behind President Sisi Against Palestinian Displacement


Cairo: Minister of Awqaf Osama el Azhari on Thursday reaffirmed the unified stance of the Egyptian people in supporting President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s firm opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians and the dissolution of the Palestinian cause.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Azhari underscored the necessity of establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital to effectively address the ongoing crisis. His remarks were made during the inauguration of Al Tahera Mosque in the Saray Al Koba district of Cairo, attended by prominent officials such as Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Parliamentary and Legal Affairs and Political Communication Mahmoud Fawzy, and Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, among others from the Awqaf Ministry and Muslim organizations.



In his speech, the Minister of Awqaf expressed his gratitude towards President Sisi for his unwavering support in the development of mosques, Islamic institutions, and historical sites across Egypt. He extended his thanks to the Tahya Masr Fund for its significant contributions to these development projects, emphasizing the renovation of Al Tahera Mosque as a testament to Egypt’s dedication to preserving its religious heritage.



Additionally, the minister conveyed his best wishes for Ramadan to President Sisi, the Egyptian populace, and the broader Arab and Muslim communities.
