Egyptian and Spanish naval forces conducted joint maritime exercises within the range of the Northern Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea with the participation of frigates from Egypt and Spain.
The practice came as part of the Egyptian Armed Forces’ plan to upgrade the level of its training, and exchange military experience with partner countries.
The drills reflected the high competitiveness and fighting capabilities of Egypt’s naval troops, as well as the combating readiness. It featured defense drills along with maritime formations, to show the ability of the country’s marine units to take their positions with accuracy and high speed.
The exercises included conducting a set of various naval combat activities aimed at strengthening maritime security procedures in the Mediterranean Sea to assess surface and air threats.
The drills also aim to prepare the navies of Egypt, Spain, to work homogeneously within a joint force charged with the tasks of maintaining maritime security.
