CAIRO: The Egyptian-Saudi military exercise “Piercing Arrow 2024” has officially commenced at the Southern Military Zone. This multi-day drill involves participation from ground, air, and naval units, as well as special forces from both Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The exercise aims to bolster military ties and facilitate the exchange of military expertise between the two nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Maj. Gen. Adel Al-Balawi, the head of the Saudi Armed Forces Education and Training Authority, highlighted that the Saudi involvement in the exercise forms a crucial component of their training strategy. This strategy includes conducting joint and mixed exercises both within the Kingdom and internationally, with the objectives of enhancing training, qualifying military personnel, and developing essential skills.
Maj. Gen. Al-Balawi, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency, underscored the active participation of the Saudi Armed Forces in the exercise. This includes representation from land, n
aval, air, and air-defense forces, aimed at strengthening military cooperation, fostering joint operational efforts, and achieving operational compatibility between the armed forces of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
