Egyptian Red Crescent launches Arab-funded aid caravan to Sudan

The Egyptian Red Crescent launched on Monday 28/8/2023 a caravan consisting of 25 tons of mattresses, blankets, and personal care products to Sudan, and that is funded by the Council of Arab Social Solidarity Ministers.

The aid was packed by volunteers at Egypt’s Red Crescent, and will arrive to Port Sudan in a few days.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity, in charge of Egypt’s Red Crescent, noted in a statement that the entity still provides logistic and medical support, as well as different types of aid at the urban crossings of Qastal and Argin. The number of beneficiaries of those services amounted to 250,000 individuals of different nationalities.

Egypt will also deliver on behalf of Kuwait 190 tons of food, medicines, and medical supplies.
