The Egyptian navy has rescued three British tourists who had gone missing during a diving trip off the coast of El-Quseir city in the Red Sea, the Egyptian Armed Forces Spokesperson Gharib Abdel-Hafez stated on Tuesday.

The tourists sent out a distress call on Monday.

After receiving the distress call, the General Command of the Armed Forces immediately instructed the naval forces to intensify search efforts, the military spokesperson noted.

A team from the Southern Fleet were able to locate and rescue the tourists, providing them with the necessary medical and administrative care.

The tourists were safely returned to their travel agency, according to the spokesperson.
