Egyptian injured in Ukraine to cross Polish borders, receive medical care in Warsaw

Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Salah el Din Abdel Sadeq has said an Egyptian national, who was injured in the conflict-hit Ukraine, left Kharkov city on a train heading to the safer regions of Western Ukraine.

Egypt’s Mohamed Saad Ragab is set to cross the Ukrainian-Polish borders along with his family, the assistant foreign minister added in a telephone call with “Extra News” TV channel on Thursday night.

Preparations were made with Egypt’s ambassador to Poland to transfer the Egyptian national to Warsaw, where he would receive needed medical care, Abdel Sadeq added.

Egypt’s efforts are underway to help Egyptian nationals in Ukraine in accordance with ongoing developments, he said. A large number of Egyptians there moved to the country’s western regions to cross to four neighboring countries; Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary, he added.

The Foreign Ministry, through ambassadors in these countries, is following up around the clock the conditions of the returning Egyptian citizens and offering them all needed facilities, he said.
