Egyptian and French Defense Ministers Discuss Military Cooperation Amid Regional Developments


Cairo: Minister of Defense and Military Production General Abdel Mageed Saqr met with his French counterpart S©bastien Lecornu, who is part of the delegation accompanying French President Emmanuel Macron on his visit to Egypt. The meeting focused on topics of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance military cooperation between Egypt and France, amid significant regional and international developments.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian defense minister expressed appreciation for the ongoing military cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of collaborative international efforts to de-escalate tensions, protect civilian lives, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.



The French defense minister, S©bastien Lecornu, acknowledged the strong Egyptian-French partnership and the successful cooperation in the military sector. He highlighted the ongoing agreement between the two countries on various issues that support regional security and stability.



The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with several commanders from the armed forces of both Egypt and France.
