Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty received a telephone contact from Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday. In the contact, Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s eagerness to enhance economic cooperation and increase the volume of trade exchange and investments between the two nations. He emphasized Egypt’s intention to strengthen economic partnerships involving the private sectors in both countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Egyptian top diplomat lauded the ongoing progress in the bilateral relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan across various domains. He highlighted the significance of high-level visits by officials from both countries, which have significantly contributed to the strong momentum in their relations. Abdelatty noted Egypt’s aspiration to leverage this momentum to further advance bilateral cooperation.
The discussions also included the importance of the upcoming 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29), whic
h will be hosted by Azerbaijan. Bayramov expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support of Azerbaijan’s presidency of the event, aimed at making the conference successful and producing tangible outcomes. Abdelatty stressed the need to focus on climate finance and to consider the concerns of developing countries in efforts to achieve the green transition goal.
The ministers also exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest, reflecting the depth of cooperation and understanding between the two countries.
