Egyptian Ambassador to Senegal Khaled Aref on Saturday 19/10/2024 emphasized the necessity of promoting bilateral economic, trade and investment relations, through harmonizing efforts of the foreign ministries and relevant ministries in both countries to unlock opportunities and establish fresh channels of communication between Egyptian and Senegalese firms and businessmen.
The ambassador made the remarks during a meeting with Senegalese President’s Diplomatic Adviser Sonar Ngom.
Aref and Ngom commended the distinguished coordination between the two countries at diplomatic and political levels in various regional and international platforms and organizations, particularly at the African Union and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), representing an African role model for South-South relations.
Aref emphasized Egypt’s constant and unconditional keenness to transfer know-how to African, Muslim and Arab countries to achieve development.
Meanwhile, the senior Senegalese official said that the
new government is looking forward to pushing forward bilateral relations, in particular the economic and commercial ones, along with increasing exchanged visits at the level of officials and delegations.
Ngom urged the Senegalese ministries of finance, economy, agriculture and infrastructure to remove all routine and bureaucratic obstacles facing Egyptian companies and investments there.
The meeting highlighted projects that Egyptian companies could contribute to in the west African country, including in pharmaceuticals, energy, agriculture, food security, fertilizers alongside digging of water canal projects.
