Egypt: Egypt’s Ambassador in Maputo Mohamed Farghal delivered President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s cable of congratulations to Mozambican President-elect Daniel Chapo on his win in the presidential election which took place on October 9.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ambassador conveyed to Chapo during their meeting the greetings of President Sisi and his wish to be working together to strengthen relations between the two countries at various levels.
Also, Farghal expressed hopes that Egypt and Mozambique, who will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 2025, will be further advancing their relationship by signing more cooperation agreements and convening joint meetings. For his part, the president-elect said that he looks forward to meeting President Sisi during his visit to Cairo to celebrate this milestone in the history of bilateral relations, praising Egypt’s role in the liberation of his country, which will be celebrating the 50th ann
iversary of its independence next year as well.
Asking the ambassador to relay his greetings to President Sisi, he thanked him for his congratulatory cable that demonstrates the depth and strength of Egyptian-Mozambican relations and confirmed his plans to promote bilateral cooperation in several economic fields, including agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and infrastructure.
