EgyptAir to operate new flights to New Delhi, Misrata, Tokyo this year: Minister

EgyptAir will operate new flights to India’s New Delhi as of August and Libya’s Misrata and Japan’s Tokyo starting September, Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmi said on Wednesday.

The flag carrier will operate four weekly flights to New Delhi and two weekly flights to each of Tokyo and Misrata, the minister added.

EgyptAir has operate new flights to different destinations over the past period, including to England’s Manchester and Bangladesh’s Dhaka, as per presidential directives to continue intensive efforts aimed at boosting the civil aviation sector to promote its competitiveness at regional and global levels.

In a meeting with Helmi this week, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi underlined the need for relying on advanced systematic studies for the development, modernization, and raising the efficiency of performance in the sector.

Sisi also affirmed the importance of maximizing benefit from the preferential advantages offered by Egypt’s geographical location, in a way that enhances the integration between the aviation and tourism sectors, and achieves a significant addition to the national income.
