EgyptAir: New Saudi COVID-19 travel restrictions to be “effective” on Feb.9

EgyptAir announced that the new Covid-19 travel restrictions introduced by Saudi Arabia would come into effect as of February 9.

In a statement released on Friday, the national air carrier appealed to its clients, including Saudi nationals, wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia to provide a negative PCR test or a Covid-19 antigen test for a sample that was taken within 48 hours prior to departure to the Kingdom.

Children under eight years old are exempted from this measure, the statement added.

Fully-vaccinated Saudi nationals, whose tests came positive for coronavirus, are allowed to enter into Saudi Arabia seven days after receiving the positive test, while those who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, can enter the Kingdom 10 days after receiving the positive test, the statement read.

Saudi citizens, who got the second dose of coronavirus vaccine three months ago, must take the booster dose to travel outside the Kingdom, except for children under 16 years old or the exempt groups in the Tawakkalna app., the statement concluded.
