Egypt, Uzbekistan discuss bilateral cooperation

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) is keen on holding fruitful cooperation with the Uzbek Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency in a bid to facilitate vistas of cooperation between the operating companies in the two countries, affirmed the EDA’s head Tamer Essam.

During his meeting with a delegation from the Uzbek agency under its first deputy director Ulugbek Egamov on Saturday 18/02/2023, Essam discussed with the visiting officials ways of boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries and exchanging expertise between the EDA and its Uzbek counterpart in the various regulatory oversight work.

For his part, the Uzbek official lauded the EDA’s remarkable role in enhancing the regulatory structure of the National Regulatory Authority (NRA).

Uzbekistan is keen on exchanging expertise with the Egyptian side, as well as promoting trade ties between the two countries, Egamov added during the meeting.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Uzbek delegation made an inspection tour of the EDA’s labs in Mansouria branch.

The delegation got acquainted with the modern equipment and the advanced infrastructure it possesses, which contributed to upgrading the Egyptian supervisory work system.

This also contributed to Egypt’s reaching to Maturity Level 3 (ML-3) for vaccine regulation from the World Health Organization (WHO).
