Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty asserted, during his meeting here Tuesday with his US counterpart Antony Blinken, the strategic nature of bilateral ties and both countries’ keenness to boost them for the best interest of the Egyptian and American peoples.
Abdelatty asserted the importance of working together to improve the different aspects of political, military, trade and economic cooperation between Egypt and the US with the aim of boosting strategic partnership.
Blinken asserted the US keenness on boosting relations with Egypt and agreement of both sides on the importance of holding a second round of the joint economic committee meetings to promote economic and trade ties between both countries, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The meeting tackled the latest developments in the crisis in Gaza and the Egyptian-Qatari-US efforts to reach a ceasefire and stop the bloodshed in the enclave in addition to allowing humanitarian aid in sufficient quantit
ies in order to contain the current humanitarian crisis, the spokesman said.
Abdelatty asserted the vision of Egypt and all the countries of the region toward a stable future in the Middle East on the basis of finding a just and permanent solution to the Palestinian cause and guaranteeing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
