Cairo: Egypt has launched a new tourism promotion campaign aimed at attracting visitors from the Arab market during the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr seasons. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is leading this initiative to showcase Egypt’s unique blend of history, spirituality, and festivity during these special times.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the campaign will run for a month and a half, specifically targeting travellers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, and Bahrain. The campaign’s goal is to highlight Egypt’s tourism offerings and encourage Arab travellers to experience the country’s distinctive Ramadan atmosphere. Simultaneously, it aims to boost domestic tourism by encouraging Egyptians to explore their own cultural heritage during Ramadan.
Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), stated that the campaign is part of the ministry’s digital marketing strategy to enhance tourism. With the growing influence of digital platforms in travel planning, the campaign is being promoted across social media and digital channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Google Display, and the Shahid streaming platform. Additionally, a dedicated webpage has been launched to showcase Egypt’s Ramadan celebrations.
Suzanne Mostafa, General Director of Tourism Promotion at the ETA, explained that the “Egypt’s Spirit in Ramadan” campaign is designed to celebrate the traditions and customs that make Ramadan in Egypt special. The campaign includes a vibrant promotional video highlighting the country’s tourist attractions and short episodes featuring Egyptian and Arab influencers sharing their Ramadan and Eid experiences in Egypt.
Nasreen Osmanli, Advisor to the ETA for Cairo International Airport Affairs, noted that the campaign extends to on-the-ground promotions, with the video being played on screens throughout Cairo International Airport’s Terminals 1, 2, and 3. This initiative ensures that visitors are introduced to Egypt’s tourism offerings upon arrival.
By combining digital outreach with on-site promotions, the campaign seeks to position Egypt as the ultimate destination for travellers looking to experience Ramadan and Eid in a setting rich with history, culture, and hospitality.
