Egypt: Egypt will play host Monday to the 12th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) at the Egypt International Exhibition Center. The forum is a significant event aimed at tackling the challenges and opportunities presented by rapid urbanization across the globe.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the WUF is convened under the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) every two years. The event seeks to address the impact of urbanization on communities, cities, economies, climate change, and policies. This year’s forum will highlight Egypt’s advancements in urban growth, showcasing the nation’s leadership in comprehensive urban development within the region.
The forum will attract a wide array of participants, including ministers from various countries, representatives from international organizations, academics, business leaders, and NGOs. The WUF, established by the UN in 2001, holds significant importance, ranking as the second most critical event on the UN agenda after the cli
mate summit.
