According to State Information Service Egypt, the statement emphasized Egypt’s longstanding commitment to resolving conflicts through peaceful means, in alignment with the United Nations Charter and international law. The ministry reiterated Egypt’s belief that diplomacy is essential in addressing the root causes of conflicts to restore security, stability, and peace.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry further detailed Egypt’s involvement in Arab and African initiatives and the Friends of Peace initiative, underscoring its support for efforts to resolve the Ukrainian-Russian crisis. The statement reaffirmed the importance of political solutions as key to resolving international conflicts, reflecting Egypt’s involvement in various peace initiatives. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi emphasized this approach in November 2022, advocating for a peaceful resolution to the conflict due to its significant humanitarian, economic, and security impacts.
