Egypt-Sudan Political Consultation Mechanism Revives After Five Years

Cairo: The meeting of the Egypt-Sudan political consultation mechanism, held for the first time since 2018, underscores a mutual commitment by both nations’ leaderships to enhance bilateral relations, stated Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, during a press conference on Sunday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty made these remarks alongside his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Yousuf Ahmed Al-Sharif, following their discussions. The Egyptian Foreign Minister highlighted the enduring cooperation between the two countries and expressed Egypt’s eagerness for the participation of Sudanese Sovereign Council Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan in the extraordinary Arab Summit on Palestine, scheduled to take place in Cairo on March 4.

The talks primarily focused on the strong ties between Egypt and Sudan and explored avenues for further enhancement. Abdelatty pointed out that this meeting served as a critical platform to address a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international matters, reflecting its significant importance in fostering deeper collaboration between the two nations.
