Assistant foreign minister for African Organizations Soha Gendi stressed Sunday that Egypt spares no effort to support the African states, citing the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for offering 30 million coronavirus vaccine doses for different African countries.
Gendi’s comments came during her participation in a virtual meeting for UNCTAD, under the rubric the “African Free Trade Agreement as a fuel for economic growth and prosperity,” organized by Egypt in coordination with UNCTAD secretariat and Madagascar, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Gendi said that the political will of the African leaders represented a locomotive for rendering the negotiations of the African Free Trade Agreement successful.
The free trade zones are proved as a necessary shield against the current economic crises and a way out for the economic recovery, she added.
