Barcelona: The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, took part in the IBTM Incentive Business Travel Meetings Expo, a prominent event in Europe for incentive tourism and conferences. The expo, held in Barcelona, Spain, served as a platform to position Egypt as a leading destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, emphasized the significance of the event as an opportunity to enhance Egypt’s reputation among top global destinations for incentive and conference tourism. “This expo is a valuable opportunity to showcase Egypt’s diverse attractions and its exceptional capacity to host large-scale events and conferences,” El-Kady stated.
The Egyptian pavilion, a central attraction at the event, was inaugurated by Mohamed Salama, Head of the Central Department of Tourism Offices at the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Bo
ard. He was accompanied by a distinguished team including Hind Radwan, Spanish Market Specialist at the Board’s External Offices Department; Dr. Nader El-Biblawi, Chairman of the Chamber of Travel Agencies and Tourism Companies; Ali Ghoneim, Chairman of the Chamber of Tourist Goods and Souvenirs; Ghada El-Khatib, EgyptAir’s General Manager for Spain and Portugal; and Ahmed Ali, Manager of EgyptAir’s Barcelona office.
During the exhibition, Mohamed Salama engaged in several high-level meetings with representatives from major international companies specializing in incentive tourism. These discussions focused on Egypt’s capabilities in hosting world-class MICE activities, including conferences, meetings, and incentive travel programs.
The Egyptian pavilion also featured interactive presentations, offering visitors a comprehensive overview of Egypt’s extensive resources and infrastructure for MICE tourism. The displays highlighted Egypt’s unique ability to host global events, showcasing its iconic venues, exce
ptional service standards, and cultural diversity as key attractions for international companies and organizations.
