Cairo: Egypt emphasized its commitment to the constants and parameters of the political settlement of the Palestinian issue, asserting its status as the central concern in the Middle East region. This was articulated in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, which cautioned that any delay in resolving the Palestinian issue, ending the Israeli occupation, and restoring Palestinian rights is the primary cause of instability in the region.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the statement highlighted Egypt’s ongoing support for the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land and reiterated its commitment to backing their legitimate rights to land, independence, and statehood, in line with international law and humanitarian law. The statement rejected any violations of these inalienable rights, including settlement expansion, land annexation, or the expulsion of indigenous people through forcible displacement. It cautioned that such actions, and the encouragement of the transfer or uprooting of Palestinians, threaten regional stability, increase the potential for conflict escalation, and undermine prospects for peace and coexistence.
The ministry called on the international community to implement the two-state solution on the ground by establishing a Palestinian state on its full national territory and ensuring the unity of Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
