Cairo: Egypt’s Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi has emphasised early planning and thorough preparations for this summer’s energy demand in close coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during the general assembly of the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) to review 2024 results, Badawi highlighted the importance of the national gas grid, operated by GASCO, as a vital artery supplying consumers and economic sectors with energy. He praised the network’s performance, serving 120 million Egyptians nationwide, and expressed appreciation for GASCO’s teams across the country.
The minister also reviewed preparations to enhance infrastructure for receiving natural gas from new Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU) in Ain Sokhna. He called for a medium-term vision to quickly determine infrastructure needs and necessary pipeline expansions.
