Egypt participates in five-way meeting on Lebanon

Ambassador Alaa Moussa, Egypt’s ambassador to Beirut, participated in a meeting of the five-member committee on Lebanon, which includes Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France, and the United States.

The meeting, held at the ambassadorial level in Beirut, focused on addressing the ongoing presidential vacuum in Lebanon.

The ambassadors discussed the urgent need to complete the Lebanese presidential elections and emphasized the importance of expediting the process. They also agreed to intensify efforts to engage with various Lebanese political parties to bridge differences and build mutual trust.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs reported that Ambassador Moussa highlighted Egypt’s efforts to prevent the escalation of military confrontations in southern Lebanon, in coordination with the other committee members. He stressed the importance of ending the presidential vacuum, which is nearing its second anniversary.
