Trade and Industry Minister Ahmed Samir had talks with his Moroccan counterpart Ryad Mezzour on the fringe of their participation in the fourth meeting of the higher committee of integrated industrial partnership held in Manama on January 10-11.
In a statement on Friday 12/01/2024, Samir said the talks tackled means of enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Morocco to realize industrial integration and boost exports to EU, Arab and African markets.
The talks also reviewed major investment opportunities between the two sides, especially in light of Morocco’s joining of the industrial integration partnership initiative to realize sustainable economic development, the statement added.
Samir underlined the importance of benefiting from trade agreements between the two sides as well as the re-formation of the joint business council to establish partnerships between private sectors of both sides.
He added that the volume of trade exchange between the two sides hit dlrs 578 million between January and Septembe
r 2023.
For his part, the Moroccan minister underlined his country’s keenness on furthering economic cooperation with Egypt in light of the deeply-rooted political and historical ties between the two countries.
He noted that Morocco’s accession to the initiative reflects keenness on promoting industrial Arab integration among Arab states and realizing sustainable industrial development.
