Egypt Looks Forward to Germany’s Support to Its Interests at EU: FM.

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty received Monday German Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Niels Annen who is attending the World Urban Forum (WUF) taking place on November 4-8. Minister Abdelatty lauded the level Egyptian-German relations had attained on the political, economic and cultural levels, expressing appreciation to Germany as a major partner to Egypt in the economic and developmental realms embodied in the participation of German firms in the implementation of national projects.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister expressed desire to expand cooperation in the sectors of development, energy, renewable energy, green hydrogen, education, vocational training, and movement of qualified labor. He also said he looked forward to Germany’s support to Egyptian interests at the European Union (EU) – in alignment with the agreement signed earlier this year to raise EU-Egypt ties to the strategic
level – and to the financial bundle allocated to the country.

In that context, the meeting tackled the efforts deployed by Egypt to combat illegal migration to Europe. On the other hand, he asserted the importance of reinforcing the pathways of legal migration for qualified Egyptian labor to Germany.

The two sides also discussed cooperation on developmental projects in Africa. Hence, Minister Abdelatty presented the initiatives executed by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, and Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA).
