Cairo: The Egyptian government has launched the website and platform for the newly-established Your Home in Egypt Initiative, offering over 5,000 residential units across various price ranges and locations in new cities, exclusively targeted at Egyptians living abroad. This initiative was unveiled by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration Badr Abdel-Aty, as part of the government’s commitment to supporting expatriates and strengthening their ties with Egypt.
According to State Information Service Egypt, under the new initiative, Egyptians abroad have the opportunity to purchase homes in foreign currencies, with flexible payment plans and competitive pricing. This development is a direct response to requests made by expatriates during a conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Migration in August 2024. The government aims to expand homeownership opportunities for Egyptians living abroad while offering incentives that make investing in real estate back home more accessible.
The Your Home in Egypt Initiative is in alignment with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to enhance support for Egyptians abroad. Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly is overseeing efforts to introduce more benefits for expatriates, ensuring they remain connected to Egypt and contribute to national development efforts.
As part of the initiative, Ministers El-Sherbiny and Abdel-Aty signed a joint cooperation protocol to facilitate implementation. They also discussed plans to introduce additional housing initiatives for Egyptians abroad, reinforcing the government’s commitment to providing more investment and real estate opportunities for expatriates in the near future.
