Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, inaugurated the foundation of Japan’s Otsuka Company’s new health supplement production plant in the industrial zone of 10th of Ramadan City, with an investment totaling LE 1 billion.
El-Khatib noted that the facility will focus on producing health supplements, starting with the popular Oronamin C product, and is designed to serve both African and Gulf markets. To facilitate the project’s swift implementation, the government awarded Otsuka the golden license, a privilege granted to expedite high-impact projects.
As one of only three Japanese firms granted this license, Otsuka has set a standard for foreign companies interested in the Egyptian market.
Otsuka, a prominent Japanese player in Egypt’s pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement, health beverage, and innovative storage solutions industries, has maintained a strong presence in Egypt since 1977.
This new venture, according to El-Khatib, highlights the strong economic ties between Egypt and Ja
pan and reaffirms Egypt’s dedication to creating a competitive, open, and globally appealing investment environment.
