Cairo: Director of Egypt’s Military Academy, Ashraf Salem Zaher, recently met with Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, to unveil a joint initiative aimed at training 2,000 to 3,000 young talents, particularly computer science graduates, in cutting-edge fields like telecommunications and information technology. The initiative marks a significant step in enhancing Egypt’s technological capabilities by focusing on advanced disciplines such as software development, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, embedded systems, electronics, and digital arts.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the programme will provide participants with access to various academic tracks including short diplomas, specialised diplomas, master’s degrees, and professional certifications. Beyond academic pursuits, the initiative also includes cultural, sports, and personal development activities, offering a holistic approach to education and skills development.
Talaat highlighted the
programme’s integration of academic and practical training, its collaboration with leading global universities and companies, and its provision of full-time, residential training opportunities for participants from across the country. A joint committee from the ministry and the academy will oversee the initiative, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated effort in nurturing the next generation of IT professionals in Egypt.
