Egypt’s national football team have jumped in FIFA’s September World Rankings to 36th, up from 31st since the July rankings.
The Pharaohs now hold the third position in Africa, trailing behind Morocco and Senegal, and the second in the Arab world.
The team’s recent success can be credited to their impressive performance during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, where they secured victories against Cape Verde and Botswana in the last international break.
Egypt had previously broken into the global top 10 after clinching three consecutive Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008, and 2010.
They will play against Mauritania in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday, 11 October in Cairo.
