Egypt, EU Seek to Strengthen Ties, Boost Economic Cooperation


Cairo: Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Wael Hamed emphasized the need to maintain open communication between Egypt and Europe to strengthen their longstanding partnership built on decades of trust and cooperation. This came during his meeting with a European Union delegation led by Stefano Sannino, Director of the Middle East, North Africa, and Arabian Gulf Department, and Annika Erksgaard, Director of the EU Economic Department.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration between Egypt and the European Union. The dialogue highlighted the mutual benefits of maintaining strong ties and the importance of addressing current global challenges together. Both parties expressed a commitment to further developing their partnership, emphasizing the need for continuous dialogue and cooperation in various sectors.



The meeting underscored the strategic importance of the Egypt-EU relationship and reiterated a shared interest in boosting economic ties. The EU delegation acknowledged Egypt’s pivotal role in the region and its potential as a key partner in facilitating economic growth and stability.
