Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelaty held a phone call on Thursday 5/12/2024 with his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh. The conversation focused on ways to boost bilateral cooperation, with both parties demonstrating a strong interest in developing relations in trade, economic, and political domains.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministers agreed to build on the historic visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Eritrea on October 10. This visit marked a pivotal moment and paved the way for launching a new stage in the history of the two countries’ relations. Both ministers expressed hope for future political consultations and coordination meetings involving Egypt, Somalia, and Eritrea.
The discussion was in line with directives from both Egyptian and Eritrean presidents to maintain consultations on regional issues. The ministers addressed several regional matters, emphasizing their support for security and stability in the Horn of Afric
