Egypt condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a hotel in the city of Kismayo in southern Somalia killing nine people and leaving at least 47 others wounded.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid expressed his sincerest condolences to the government and people of Somalia and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, according to a press release by the ministry on Monday.
“Egypt clings to its firm stance in condemnation of such abhorrent terrorist acts, whatever their forms or motives might be,” he stressed, urging for more concerted efforts by the international community to eliminate terrorism, confront its root causes and dry up its sources of funding and support.
